Construction
The construction industry places unique demands on their
drivers. Whether a construction company focuses on general contracting,
plumbing, HVAC, landscaping, electrical, flatwork, or heavy construction,
vehicles present their single largest liability. In addition, it is not
uncommon for employees to take their trucks home overnight and on weekends,
greatly increasing the potential for accidents and claims.
Construction workers often are required to drive large trucks
with trailers on highways, rural roads, and off-road to get to work sites. Once
on site, the driver becomes a construction worker and puts in a long, physical
day. At the end of the day, the same individual must change back to a
professional driver to get the equipment safely to the next location or back to
the shop.
The Center for Transportation Safety trainers understand the specific needs of
the construction industry. We have a full suite of training courses, as well as
scenarios for our simulators that meet your unique needs. Our simulator
scenarios cover highway, rural roads, gravel/dirt roads, and a full off-road
virtual world. We simulate the following equipment:
-
Short and long trailers
-
High center of gravity vehicles
-
9 or 13 speed tractors
-
Dump trucks
-
Snow plows
-
Tanker units (simulated as full or half full)
We bring our training and services to your shop or office with
self-contained mobile training units that seat from 8 to 20 people, each with a
full-freedom multi-channel simulator. Our units travel the western U.S. and
deliver training where it is needed.
We also provide periodic meeting topics to help invigorate your safety meetings
and bring an outside perspective to your operations and safety.
Our field service clients have reduced their accidents by 18 - 37%!
