Buses & Transit
Bus and transit drivers enjoy a stable and rewarding career. The Center for Transportation Safety provides new and experienced drivers with skills and habits that will help them enjoy a successful career. Our training has helped major transit authorities reduce their new driver "washout" by 22%, saving millions of dollars. Our refresher courses help experienced drivers avoid the mid-career "doldrums" that can lead to major accidents. Statistics show that drivers with over one million miles and 3 - 5 years of experience are at a dangerous point in their career. They become complacent and make bigger mistakes, risking lives and huge losses. CTS can "tune-up" the experienced driver, give him or her new safety methods to use, and place drivers in emergency and accident situations (real and simulated) to shake them out of their complacency. We also provide periodic topics and simulations to help invigorate your safety meetings and bring an outside perspective to your operations.
